One of the classic Truths in natural health is that your biography becomes your biology and your biology becomes your biography. I have thought about this adage a lot over the years, and have become very impressed by the importance of that simple saying. It tells us that the physical and emotional traumas of childhood can lead us to develop physical issues that affect how we live our lives, which, if unchecked, can lead to more physical issues in a cycle of feedback loops that cause us to not live to our full potential.
We all have a unique history of how we arrive at where we are now, and we all have different goals and dreams of what we would like to achieve.
For many of us, the path to those goals and dreams seems impossible. As the feedback loop of our biology and biography introduce physical and emotional limitations, we put aside our beautiful goals and dreams and instead “settle” on smaller “wants”. We hear ourselves say “I just want to be able to …” dance at a wedding, climb stairs without pain, stop feeling so anxious, quit smoking, positively change a number on a medical test, ride a bike again, etc.
It doesn’t have to be this way. What if we used that feedback loop to our advantage? What if we stop and say, “What do I want my biography to be in 1 year? 5 years? 20 years?” Be specific, be bold, and write it down! If you find yourself limiting or editing, then draw a line on a piece of paper to make two columns, in column 1, write what you allow yourself to think is possible, and in column 2, write what you would really want if you knew you wouldn’t fail.
The next step is to make a special appointment to talk to Dr. Chris about what changes to your biology are necessary to help you create that biography and work together on an action plan. Your unique action plan may involve a blend of:
